Huntington Beach Pier Guide: Where to Eat and Watch the Sunset
By Broad Street Oyster Co.
The Huntington Beach Pier is the heart of Surf City, and the best seat on it is at the very end. That's where you'll find Broad Street Oyster Co.: oysters on ice, World Famous Lobster Rolls and craft cocktails with nothing but the Pacific around you.
Here's how to make the most of a visit, from when to go to what to order.
Getting to the end of the pier
We're at 1 Main Street, at the tip of the Huntington Beach Pier. Start where Main Street meets Pacific Coast Highway and walk straight out over the water. Along the way you'll pass surfers lining up below and anglers fishing off the rails.
Paid parking lots sit on both sides of the pier along Pacific Coast Highway, and downtown Main Street has more parking a block or two inland.
When to go
- Sunset in fall and winter: from November through February the sun sets around 5 pm, so an early dinner gets you the full show over the water.
- Lunch on a sunny day: the beach is busy, the surf is up and the view stretches down the coast.
- Weekday afternoons: the quietest time for a long, lazy lunch.
We're open every day from 11 am to 8 pm.
What to order at the end of the pier
From the raw bar: oysters, scallop crudo, seafood ceviche with avocado, and oysters Rockefeller. Going big? The seafood tower is made for sharing.
The one you came for: our World Famous Lobster Roll, served warm with butter or chilled with mayo.
The hits: fish and chips in Budweiser batter, Baja tacos with beer-battered shrimp or fish, shrimp scampi and a fried seafood platter.
For the table: New England clam chowder, a Louie salad with shrimp and avocado, and fries with Old Bay aioli.
For the kids: chicken and fries, a hot dog or a three-cheese grilled cheese.
Craft cocktails with an ocean view
The drinks menu is built for the beach. Try the Shark Bite (prosecco, Campari and grapefruit), a Strawberry Marg or the Tijuana Breeze with tequila and cucumber. Prefer something simple? There's beer, wine by the glass or bottle, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
